About My Practice

Hello, my name is Jen. I have been teaching mat-based Pilates since 2016 and have over 20 years of personal Pilates practice. The aim of my practice is to unite the body and mind by using the key Pilates principles to improve flexibility and balance, promote a better posture, strengthen muscles and prevent injury by using low-impact, conditioning movements.

Pilates for everyone

Pilates uses slow, safe, controlled movements to create longer, leaner, toned muscles. It is beneficial for people with a wide range of medical conditions including osteoporosis, arthritis, sciatica, whiplash, sports and spinal injuries. Regular Pilates practise can help improve posture, flexibility, balance, muscle tone, joint mobility, concentration and body awareness; increase muscle strength, relaxation and circulation in the body, as well as relieve stress and tension.

Pilates is a great way to improve your endurance in other physical activities.

A stronger core will help you run faster, lift heavier and improve your balance, mobility and posture. The slow and controlled movement also has minimal impact on joints making it ideal for rehab & prehab.

Benefits of Pilates

Pilates hits your core unlike any other workout. In fact, after completing 36 weeks of Pilates training, participants strengthened their rectus abdominis (the muscle responsible for six-packs) by an average of 21 percent, while eliminating muscle imbalances between the right and left sides of their cores, according to a Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise study.

Yoga at Home

SMALL GROUP CLASSES (2-4)

Small group classes are a great way to exercise with family and/or  friends at home. I often personalise the classes based on the groups needs.  The classes include use of small equipment. 

Private class for one

Private one to one classes are a great way to personalise your Pilates practice. If you are new to Pilates, suffering from pain or injuries, I recommend taking a few private classes to get you going.

My first experience of online classes. Jennifer has managed to make Pilates via zoom feel personal. I enjoy being part of a group. For me the classes work well. As I am having treatment which gives me achy joints Jennifer sends me a recorded link to do at a time which works for me when I feel tired.

Jennifer is very clear both with her directions and demonstrations. Also flexible in her approach and very inclusive. I look forward to the classes and feel much better afterwards

I was a total beginner and concerned I wouldn’t keep up! However Jen made everyone on the class feel so welcome and at ease and was able to tailor the class to suit individuals. The hour long class flys by with Jen’s bubbly, friendly and very clear instructions. I can’t believe how much better I feel having done 2 months of classes.
